I need your help
Strathclyde Aquatics lost their marathon runner this week (3rd March) and they needed someone – at short notice – to take over the London Marathon place and try and fundraise on their behalf. Interesting. I used to play water polo and I was going down to support at London anyway.
When I found out Strathclyde Aquatics are the only organisation that offers water polo in the UK for children with additional support needs, I immediately felt it was something my network would get behind and support. I started water polo when I went to Cardiff University, then played for Cardiff and Liverpool water polo teams and absolutely loved it. Cardiff were notably more fun. The weekend that we played Cambridge Uni is logged in the history books…
The benefits of the sport extend beyond the physical, with the camaraderie this intense sport demands developing friendships for life.
If I can help raise vital funds for this charity, there will be scope for the scheme to expand nationally.
With just 7 weeks to train and after two years plagued with injury, any donations supporting me or the water polo team would be much appreciated. Xxx
