Our Aim

Strathclyde Aquatics exists to advance participation in aquatic sports by creating affordable, inclusive, and inspirational opportunities for children and young people. We believe that everyone should have the chance to enjoy the water, develop confidence, build friendships, and reach their full potential,

Turning Our Vision into Action

Every year, Strathclyde Aquatics delivers programmes that remove barriers to participation and create pathways from first splash to sporting success.

Youth Waterpolo

Our coaches deliver the Otterball and Splashattack programmes throughout Renfrewshire, introducing young people to waterpolo in a fun, safe, and welcoming environment. At just £1 per week, there is virtually no financial barrier to participation.

As part of our continued development, we are planning to establish Scotland’s first WP4x4 Waterpolo Academy in Paisley. WP4x4 is a fast-paced, exciting format of the game that is ideal for developing young players. We are seeking to raise £2,500 to purchase a WP4x4 pitch, goals, and equipment and bring this innovative programme to Renfrewshire.

Inclusive Waterpolo

Strathclyde Aquatics operates the first and only dedicated waterpolo programme in the UK for children and young people with additional support needs. The programme provides opportunities to develop water confidence, physical skills, social connections, and a lifelong love of sport.

We are seeking to raise £2,500 to expand the programme and purchase additional specialist equipment. Just £900 is enough to start a new inclusive programme and help more children experience the benefits of aquatic sport.

Waterpolo Camps

Our annual waterpolo camps have inspired and developed hundreds of young players over the years. Participants benefit from expert coaching, unforgettable experiences, and the chance to learn from some of the best in the sport. No fewer than six Olympic medallists from across Europe have coached at our camps.

We are aiming to raise money to help reduce camp costs and keep these opportunities affordable for our loyal members and participants.

Help Us Build the Next Generation

Today’s beginners are tomorrow’s champions when they can overcome barriers, be part of a team, have robust resilience or achieve their personal goals.  By supporting Strathclyde Aquatics, you are helping more children access sport, creating opportunities for young people of all abilities, and building the future of Scottish waterpolo.
